August 2 Harvest

I pulled the other 2 plants today. No, I do not know what variety they were. I did a quickie trim on the sugar leaves and hung them along side the other one.
I pulled the stems and root balls from the pot, and planted the last plant I have growing. This one is the last surviving Purple Dwarf.

August 4

On the Gorilla Glue plant, today I trimmed off the top in hopes it will branch out and get me a few extra buds. This plant is what I have been waiting for. It is the only survivor of the 5 seeds I paid dearly for.

According to my sister in law and her husband, all the plants I have grown the past years or two were excellent smoking..I can no longer smoke..

November 5

I cut down the Gorilla Glue plants and trimmed them, and then hung them up to begin the arduous process of drying and curing.

July 27 harvest

I pulled one plant yesterday and trimmed many of the leaves, and hung the rest of the plant. There wasn’t very much, but what there was of it was very sticky with the trichromes. The pistils had gone brown which means it’s probably late for harvesting…I’m OK.
I still have two more plants that are likely very close to pulling up as well. I gave them a good watering. Their pistils are brown as well. I have been unwell, and I’m sticking to that excuse for now.
I transplanted the Gorilla Glue into a larger container.
The Purple Dwarf is still growing and it much taller than the GG. It needs a transplant as well.
Out of 5 GG seeds, only one survived the sprout and seedling stage.

July 9 update

I had some problems with my former supplier: WWSB from Canada. I spent some extra money getting a tracking number, and it disappeared.

I contacted them, and they refused to help me find it. They told me I should call the local post office, as the tracking showed it was “out for delivery” for 3 weeks. Since the local mail carriers are a couple of ladies, I figured they did not steal the seeds for themselves.

I ordered from another supplier, DC seed exchange. Their seeds were crap, although 3 of them did sprout and grow and are now 3 ft tall with many nice smelling flowers. Pluto’s Bride is one of the varieties, and I forget the other.

I gave in and ordered some more from WWSB, and only one of them survived; it is a Purple Dwarf, and is now  inches tall on a scrawny stem. Yes, I have a fan blowing on it.

Then, all of a sudden, the missing shipment showed up. There were 5 Gorilla Glue seeds, and only one has survived the sprouting and subsequent planting. There is one more seed, a Black Death…it is a photo period seed and will have to be dealt with separately, as the others are autoflower, and the grow light runs 24/7.

May 5 A New Crop

I started a new crop this month.

After a row with my former supplier, to whom I paid and never received my merchandise, I have sought and found other source. The tracking showed the local post office has it out for delivery. The sellers (WWSB) wanted me to go out and

look around by the mailbox because sometimes those packages fall to the ground unnoticed.

WWSB did not offer to do shit to track or inquire, so I said fuck them.

Home

They don’t have a wide variety, but it ships from the US.

I sprouted four seeds, and one has already fallen over dead. I don’t  know why.

The other three are still on first set of leaves, and are “stemmy”. I have them getting some simulated wind from a small fan I got recently.

Pluto’s Bride and a mystery seed.

I wanted to try some Gorilla Glue, or even better some Dr Krippling, but those  are only available from England, and the crap one has to go through to pay for it is totally insane.

The last harvest I had, I saved in a vacuum sealed bag. My brother in law visited and I gave him a couple bags from the old harvest. He indicated later that it was really good stuff…some Nebula Haze, and Girl Scout Cookie. He used to grow himself; a rather large crop; a field, so I took his approval as a compliment.

Anyway, these are feminized autoflower seeds, and am hoping for a nice harvest.

I again mixed up some soil using the Biobizz lite, some bat guano, worm castings, and bone meal for a nice mix in Home Depot buckets eventually.

I Have Stopped Growing My Own..Nearly

I thought I had found a solution to all the coughing and smell from smoking weed.

I found a place that sells gummies, that seem to give out a decent buzz..

Mr Hemp Flower- CBD Rich Hemp Flower

I have tried the Delta 8 and Delta 9 gummies, and the chocolate bars as well. Although a bit pricey, they can get one high.

They have frequent sales, in that often they offer half price for many of the edibles.

I put all my dope in Food Saver bags, and are now in storage.

I don’t know how these folks do it, but they say their products are legal.

One gummy will affect one for about 6-8 hours; two will fuck you up with wobbly legs as well.

The urge to jam to Pink Floyd or the like, is not as strong with these Delta gummies.

I ordered 4 Gorilla Glue seeds today, given it’s early spring and time to plant. Although the gummies work, I decided to grow some very strong stuff since I have the opportunity, wherewithal, and space to do so.

I get those from White Widow Rocks

https://whitewidow.rocks/product-category/all-seeds/

I have purchased sees from many vendors, but these folks are the best. One does not have to spend $100 for them to speak to you like others, and can order as few as you like.

They ship the seeds in tiny containers that fit inside the “packing peanuts” nicely and also include some freebies..

They are based out of Canada, and shipping is quick and discreet.

There are some folks that now sell seeds within the US, but they wanted nearly $90 for 4 seeds…that’s too high.

I have sprouted my spring garden plants; tomatoes, peppers, and much more. I use Biobiz lite soil mix for the growing and add worm castings, bone meal, and bat guano for long term planting. It has worked well in the past.

It would be nice to put said plants in the greenhouse, but I get some kind of bug that infests the buds. What the hell, I still smoked them even though it was very harsh.

This grow will be inside in a little used shower stall with growth LEDs which I have used for several grows now.

Harvest Yield

After all the cutting and trimming, I ended up with 5 qt jars of buds.

Now for the curing stage where I have been opening the jars every day after a good shake, to keep mold from forming. This process dries the buds further, but very slowly.

This particular batch is the Nebula Star variety, and just the very tops of the plants.

About 4 weeks of curing, and I’ll sample.

6 months of growing? It’s only supposed to take 90 days at most.

Harvest

We had some serious rain a few days ago, and even though the 5 plants were in the greenhouse, they got a lot of water; enough that  the Girl Scout Cookies plants broke in half, and I was forced to harvest them.

The Nebula Star plants too were at the verge of being ready, so I harvested them too as we are expecting much more rain tonight and tomorrow.

This is the entire group taken a week ago or so. The Nebula plants are in the back and the tallest.

This is the last Nebula plant. The crossbeam is over 6 feet tall, and the cola likely tops out at 7 feet.

I cut the top half of the plant first.

The above and below were taken after the cut and before trimming.

I also had to deal with a few ants, and the white flies were getting bad. I found a few eggs sack on the stems as well. The below pic shows some of the whiteflies on the bottom side of the leaves. They can multiply and kill a plant.

they are hard to kill, because they live under the leaves…on my elephant ear plants, I usually feed the plant a systemic insecticide…not for this type plant however. I caught it in time. A few more days likely would have been devastating. I shook the plants well before bringing them inside, and it was a fog of flies that came out.

The ants were stuck in the trichomes, but a few escaped…

I now have all the buds hanging to dry.

Trimming is a bitch. I did not expect all five plants to make it to the harvest.

Dilemma Approaching

We are in for some much cooler weather over the next few mornings, with temps dropping into the 50s.
Still warming up in the afternoons to the 80s, yet my concern is that the plants will revert back to the vegetative growth cycle…that would be bad.

Either I cut them early, or just hope for the best.

The so called Indian Summers are common here as fall approaches. Last year, I had same issue, but the plants were indoors. Still, they slowed down as the outside temps dropped so did the inside temps as we do not run the central heat in the fall or winter.

I am leaning strongly to just leaving them, and allow them to recover and finish blooming.

More Blooms

After moving both plants out to the greenhouse a few days ago, now the GSC is blooming too.
After sprouting in April, they are finally blooming. They should have been harvested by now.

I am now required to go out to the greenhouse every day, and give each plant a gallon of water.

This is August, and September will bring even hotter temps; well into high nineties and hundreds…that’s life in Texas.

If the plants go to full bloom to harvest, I should enjoy quite a fresh supply.

The down side to the greenhouse is the bugs.

I have grown successfully in the greenhouse in years past, but the spider mites like the buds too, and set up home inside them…at least I think they’re spider  mites. The webs in the buds are tiny and compact.

The last batch had the webs in the buds, and I kept them anyway…mostly, and cured them.

I dropped a Raid Fumigator in the greenhouse a couple days ago.

Certainly, the place is not sealed, but will hold a fog for a little while, hopefully long enough to kill off some of the lingering bugs.

I tossed some granular insecticide on and around the pallet on which the buckets stand to keep the ants away.

I have more of the Fumigators, and will use as necessary. It only kills bugs that are present and alive.

There is no residual poison.

It’s a while until harvest yet, but at least we are on our way.

Finally Some Blooms

After seriously considering cutting all the plants down, I had to place the Nebula Haze outside, as they grew up into the LED lighting; a good six feet.
After three days outside, that plant is now blooming.
The Girls Scout Cookie plant still has not bloomed, and went to 12/12 on the light cycle, even though they are “autoflowering” variety.

We had some roofing work done on the well house, and the greenhouse is attached to it, so I held off putting the plants out there until they were done.

Yesterday (8/20) both plants were moved to the greenhouse on a pallet.

This move will require daily watering, it gets hot out there.

The plants are tropical by nature, and the heat will not bother them, as long as they get water.

It looks like I’m gonna have to anchor the GSC, as they are leaning over. Will likely use a 1/2″ rebar to keep them upright.

The bottom pic is both plants with the GSC in front, and the Nebula Haze reaching upwards in the rear.

The top pic is the Nebula Haze tops.

I did add a section of 1/2 rebar to the GSC and tie two of the three plants up.
